 Statement given by the Assembly of Religious Institutions in Ethiopia

The Supreme Council of Ethiopian Islamic Affairs today, July 11, 2014, held the second round of the national conference of the Ethiopian Muslims for Institutional Change and Unity, elected the general assembly and executive members of the council, and nominated the leaders of the Supreme Council.

Our congregation wishes for Sheikh Hajj Ibrahim and all his colleagues who were elected as the president of the Supreme Council to have a good and blessed term of service.

At the same time, our assembly would like to express its gratitude for the leadership given by the First Mufti Haj Omar Adris and his colleagues who served as the President of the Supreme Council for the past 3 years.

Ezegebe Muslimum urges the Assembly of Religious Institutions of Ethiopia to work with the new leadership to strengthen its leading institution and conveys its congratulatory message while informing that our assembly will work together to strengthen the Supreme Council.

Addis Ababa, July 11, 2014 (FBC) The Supreme Council of Ethiopian Islamic Affairs elected the members of the General Assembly and Executive.

The General Assembly elected Sheikh Haji Ibrahim Tufa as President, Sheikh Abdul Karim Sheikh Bedardin and Abdul Aziz Abdul Wale as Vice President and Sheikh Hamid Musa as Secretary General.
